The main reason why Eastern Europe and the USSR collapse because the wanted to enter to the soviet union by crashing the Berlin Wall and separating the East and West Germany.
East Germany was a Communist and wouldn't allow anyone to cross, including doctors and scientists, if someone will wanted to cross might be shot instantly.
As then East Germany gained freedom from the Soviet Union.
Most people were tearing up, because they wanted to be on the other side, also the police commanders were killing a lot of people.

The Soviet Union was destroyed, most groups that Soviet they had were separated from each other. These success was one of the very important turning points in history. At the very end of this battle that seemed without an end, but finally the the walls were destroy and the people from both sides could get back to their original places.

The European Union

Read the link below. Briefly explain the European Union and respond to the following: Why is it a good thing? What will it prevent?

European Union was mostly based on gaining power that U.S had. Europe was not satisfied with the effort they were doing, they needed to have more strenght in order to get absolute power, just like U.S and also try to act like them.
EU wanted to do use the same kind of system U.S now use.
The reason why I don't really think is a good thing is because If someone or a country for example wants to succes, that own person has to make it's own effort to the things, and if something doesn't come all right, so then just try the other way instead. But just knowing that is your own problem and you're the only judge for the mistake taken.

"The Right Stuff"

How were the US and the USSR competing in the film "The Right Stuff"? Explain who was winning the competition. What scenes from the film will help you remember this Cold War event.

The USSR were the first ones who sent a human to the space, rather than U.S that sent a monkey. U.S always were competing with Russia to be the best and #1 in every way.
However even though the Russian were the first ones in everything, at the end U.S finally gained power and became the most powerful country.
The best scene that can make me remember about Cold War, probably it's when U.S sent a monkey to the space first, but then few weeks later, Russia sent a human instead, and that's what made those countries get into a fight, and try to be the ones in the world.

Cuban Missile Crisis was the closest approach to nuclear war at any time between the U.S. and the USSR. When the U.S. discovered Soviet nuclear missiles on Cuba, President John F. Kennedy demanded their removal of any kind of weapon, or missile out of the island, an exchange for that U.S won't invade Cuba, so the Soviet leader Khrushchev acceded to the U.S. demands days later.

NATO and THE WARSAW PACT

Read the three NATO links below. What were NATO and the Warsaw Pact? Who formed these alliances and why?

NATO is an organization that wanted to get alliance with other so that if one of them were attacked all of the other countries in NATO would come to their aide. European and North America were the ones who formed the organization.
Their main goal was to prevent or in other words to stopped the Soviet Union from building nuclear weapons.
NATO's main purpose was to safeguard member of the countries econically and politically means.

On the other hand, Warsaw Pact (May 14, 1955), was consisted mostly by Soviet Union. . The Soviet Union kept military personnel in the other countries of the alliance and kept them running socialist governments.
Khrushchev, came to be close to war with the U.S. clashed with China. He assumed power in early 1955 with Bulganin, so these two members of the Warsaw Pact created a defense by communist states of Europe under Soviet influence, in response to the admission of West Germany to NATO. The pact was dissolved in 1991.

"Night and Fog"

Some reaction about this film make me feel astonished, I never saw scenes like before...After seem dead bodies or parts that were just like a horror movie, it make me feel like if I was in their own shoes.
This film shows everything, not as the Schindler's list. This film I think was made with a purpose, to really show how they were living, also be forced to do work all day without getting any good meal. This film also shows when they were almost to die, how day by day the Jews were getting weaker. By this fact Night and Fog film illustrates more effectively the Holocaust version.

"Schindler's list"

The way Schindler's list illustrated the Holocaust was in a way that people explains in detail, how Jews struggled during the Holocaust. For example in the places they were living and working, also the film shows how bad they were treated.
As another viewer of this film, the Holocaust was nothing seem before. Although there was something that got my attention, it was their physical appearance and how bad they were feeding.
However the film also shows when little kids when sending to be killed with older people too.
The kids and the sick people didn't know they were going to be killed, and that makes it even more sad. The people who were in "good health" had to work almost as slaves.

U.s Atomic bombing of Japan in 1945

When U.S attacked Japan with an atomic bomb, nobody knew about it, and what even made the pain of these people get worse was by facing and suffering such a disaster, but they also faced all the problems that Japan had even though they had nothing to do with it. They were just good citizens , the problem was with the goverment.
Therefore by these issues America became powerful. The news of the bomb were #1.
There hasn't a huge big news about Atomic bombs at all, that can destroyed a country... but there are some other issues in which alot of people had died by terrorist;for example a resent attack was the World trade center and it was a catastrophe.
Another example is when Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor in NewYork.

One way that America view the exit of getting out of war and winning it was by droping a bomb, however they didn't see the other side of the situation, which is the illness of people and more.

The Treaty of Versailles ( ended WWI )

Explain how the Treaty of Versailles affected Germany at the end of WW I. Some historians say that the Treaty of Versailles led to the rise of Fascism and Adolph Hitler. Why do you think historians say this?

After WWI Germany had lost not even the battle but also they had to give back all their imperial possesions out of Germany. This change make Germany lose all the power that they used to have.
About this subject some historians said that the Treaty of Versailles led to the rise of Fascism and Adolph because they imposed hardship on Germany, they did not let Germany took over their territories or lands and after this problem people though they were not solutions, but them Hitler had an esay solution to all the problems, therefore this made Hitler more popular around, so Hitler became a dictator, a leader with complete control.

Mustafa Kemal ( Ataturk) & the modernization of Turkey

Mustafa Kemal modernized and made Turkey more secular when he did things that not regarded as religious or spiritual, because He wanted to change Tukey's way of life style into a new "nationality". Mustafa made people dressed up not like they were used to according to their culture, However they had to dressed up like Europeans and Americans instead.
For example he wanted them to wear regular hats instead of fez, or even wear with the regular North America style.
Mustafa created a new system of modernized turkish writing... Obviously people didn't like these new system, however they had to learn it somehow.

Film Lesson: "Gandhi"

Gandhi is a rebel man, that gave his all entire life to make one union nation meaning; that he wanted to religions be together ( muslims, and hindus) without the brittish that used make their lives miserable because they used control India. Gandhi was an incredible man, he tried to make India a free land by making boycotts, also he told people to make their own clothing instead of buying to the "enemy".
Another thing he did was a salt march. The salt and other goods were in a very high prize, so Gandhi and his people revolted for it, and decided to use salt from the ocean.
The brittish wanted to sell goods to the Indias that were produced in India!

Gandhi was against violence, he wanted to do all the marches and boycotts, but without making hurt anyone, although at the end the brittish soldiers arrested them.
Gandhi was an example of the justice.. he and also Martin Luther tried to bring justice for all and that's is something to admire.
